Since 1985, the music festival "Mosel Festwochen" presents excellent artists of classical music, worldwide celebrities as well as highly gifted "rising stars", in beautiful settings amidst a charming countryside of vineyards and castles. 50 concerts are given in 25 different localities along the Mosel from early June to 3rd of October (Germany’s National Holiday).
Indoor performances are given in old churches, in historical buildings and mediaeval castles, and in the core of the Mosel Festwochen, the Baroque Hall of Machern Monastery, famous for its charming ambience and unique acoustics.
The courtyard of Machern Monastery near the famous wine resort Bernkastel-Kues, the Roman Imperial Baths, the Amphitheatre, and the architecturally impressive inner courtyard of the Electoral Palace in Trier, or the romantic courtyard of the mediaeval Eltz Castle are some of the picturesque open air venues, where events take place.
Some of the 2007 festival events will be within the scope of “Luxembourg and Greater Region - European Cultural Capital 2007”
Come and experience a harmonic triad of music, wine, and countryside! The Mosel Festwochen Team
